Shipping Methods Offered
We offer a variety of domestic and international shipping options for your convenience (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc). We try to use the most inexpensive and reliable method for shipping your product, and the method used will depend on where the product ships from as well as your location. We typcially ship via FedEx and UPS, with international shipments via USPS. You will have the option to choose your preferred shipping method in the check out page.
All of our products are shipped directly from our distributor, so we do not carry inventory, and thus, do not have a will-call area available for local pick up.
However, for those that are local Southern California, we do have a warehouse in So Cal that we can ship from so you should receive your order the following day, making it more beneficial to ship it directly to your door rather than to have it shipped to our location for you to pick up.
Shipping Cut-Off Times
The cut-off time for shipping ground shipments is 3PM Pacific. The cut-off time for shipping overnight, next-day and 2nd-day shipments is 1PM Pacific. The ability to get your order shipped out to you quickly depends on the availability of the part in the warehouse closest to your location. If the warehouse that has your product has closed for the day, it will not be shipped until the following day. However, most warehouses carry a majority of the products we offer, so your order is likely to ship the same day based on the above cut-off time parameters.
SoCalMotorsport.com will send you a shipment confirmation email with your tracking information following shipment of your order. We also provide a shipment tracking page for our customers so you can keep track of your order. It provides you with all the information for the shipment of your order, including any updates, tracking numbers, etc, all via our website. To track your shipment, please see the Order Tracking page. Please understand that not all shipping methods provide shipment tracking numbers (USPS Airmail Letter Post, USPS Gloabl Priority Mail, etc). If you can't get information on your shipment through our Order Tracking page, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you another copy of your shipment confirmation email.
The shipping costs are based on the weight of the package. We also apply an additional amount to cover packing materials, and any special handling considerations that may be required to ship the package.
Saturday delivery is available as a special request option (US locations only). FedEx and UPS will deliver on Saturday if the package is sent via Next-Day Air or Overnight. There is a $20 additional charge for Saturday delivery. The US Postal service will deliver Next-Day-Air packages on Saturday. Priority Mail packages are also delivered on Saturday as well.
Damaged / Lost Shipments
In the rare case that your package was damaged in shipment, you must immediately notify the shipping carrier via phone (1-800-ASK-USPS, 1-800-GO-FEDEX or 1-800-PICK-UPS). The carrier will initiate a claims process for the damaged package. After calling the carrier, please call us and notify us about the damaged shipment. We will make arrangements with you to replace the parts that were damaged.
We typically encounter very few lost packages with any of our carriers. Conversely, the USPS tracking system is not as sophisticated as UPS or FedEx in that it does not update each step of the way, only upon delivery and, in some rare cases, when the package has reached a major USPS shipping hub. In some cases it may appear your order has been 'lost' with the USPS when in reality, your order may only be delayed an additional day or two. US shipments through the USPS typcially take between 4-7 days, with international orders taking up to 10-15 days depending on the shipping method. So if your order has not arrived within these parameters, please allow a couple of extra days for delivery and contact us if the delivery exceeds this additional time. If you believe your package has been lost, please send us an email at email@example.com and we will gladly assist to help you track it down.
Customs Fees & Tariffs
We wil not be responsible for customs fees and tariffs. If you have any questions about the customs duties and tariffs, please contact your local customs office prior to ordering. If you refuse a package at customs and it is returned to us, we will not offer a refund for the shipping cost.
